Hey, we scored a couple of more awesome reviews of our CD from some very nice folks out there in Reviewerland.  Jordan Russell of Lyric Lounge Review in the UK  said “… Some artists are growers – you have to listen to them a few times to ‘get them’. Mold Colony, on the other hand, is different. If I don’t write as I go I wouldn’t trust my memory, I wouldn’t believe what I’d just heard!  … Mold Colony will blow your mind! … If Mold come to the UK, I will be there in the front row! These are a band for those who refuse to grow up.”  (see here)  Thanks, Jordan!  And we agree:  Mold Colony will never grow up … we’ll just keep infesting those dark, damp little places of your mind.   And Anthony Nadeau, a reviewer and neighbour of ours on Canada’s west coast gave us a great 4 out of 5 rating, saying “Mold Colony debuts with this album of funk, rock and all around fun … this is a very enjoyable album from four talented musicians in Victoria, BC … such great work happening here … something that is clearly all their own  … some great bass work … the band is really tight … Duggan's Dew [is] an instrumental that really shows off their talents … These four sure know their stuff [and] sound like they have been playing together for many, many years.”  (see here)  Thanks, mate!  Yes, the band’s been together a very long time, but there doesn’t seem to be an end to this relentless stream of outrageous ideas.  Stay tuned for new tunes launching soon! (How’s that for alliteration?)

New music coming from Mold Colony!  Hey, we're not dead, we're just a little moldy.  We've been laying about watching the spores dance (for inspiration) and are now writing and recording new music again, with 3 new songs in the works and many more to come. We'll begin unleashing these green, furry little monsters soon for free download on this site, as well as SoundCloud here, and MySpace here  ... where you can find us already.  Of course, you can also find high-res versions of tunes from 'The Experiment' on iTunes here,
Amazon here, and some other sites, or buy a cool copy of the beautifully designed CD (complete with song lyrics ... and pictures ... and polystyrene!) from right here on this site (see link above).  Thanks to all of our fans out there ... get up, get down, get moldy

Here is a band that keeps the fun in funky.  Filled with songs like "Space Monkey" and "Pirates Blood," their ... CD is full of very original music that is fun as a barrel of (space) monkeys.”  Indie Music Review, musicreviewblurbs.blogspot.com

music-reviewer.com gives Mold Colony debut CD a 9 out of 10 rating “Staff Rating: 9 out of 10 … this CD is one that manages to satisfy on a variety of levels. The music … travels through a variety of generally classic rock realms with bands like Rush coming to mind on occasion, a tinge of AC/DC here and there in Kel’s guitar work, and even an instance where the thought, “hey, they sounds like a less-strung-out-on-caffeine Faith No More,” came to mind. Styx probably came to mind … on a few songs Denslow sounds a lot like vintage Dennis DeYoung. … [you will be] won over by catchy vibes and the unabashedly nerdy witticism … Another highlight comes in the form of the instrumental Duggan’s Dew, which showcases a band that can really play … an attitude laden progressive rock/blues-tinged number, the track is a revelation in a CD already full of surprises.” Partha Mukhopadhyay, music-reviewer.com
