Facts and FAQ's :

Where does the band live?
Mold Colony resides in Victoria, the scenic
capital city of British Columbia, Canada.

Where did the band name come from?
Mold Colony was an idea that we thought reflected the band’s sense of humor fairly well. Philosophical answer: From the decaying influences of the past, musical ideas are
released like spores, moving and evolving
relentlessly forward, settling on a new generation to grow again.

What’s with the cover and title of the debut CD?
The CD took far longer to complete than we originally envisioned and the tracks evolved significantly, so the title “The Experiment Is Out Of Control” seemed appropriate. The cover image is an idea we’d always wanted to realize. It shows the band in hazmat (hazardous material) suits as a colony of mold farmers, cultivating a crop that is rampantly escaping its petri dish.

What are those strange photos used in the CD package and
on your site?

We were fortunate to discover the amazing work of Dennis Kunkel Ph.D., an award-winning photomicrographer.  The images we chose are of highly magnified toxic and slime mold fruiting structures.
Check out his vast portfolio here www.denniskunkel.com.

Where can I see the band play live?
We’ve been stuck in the basement working on the CD until recently but are hoping to perform locally sometime soon. Watch this site for news.
